Blockbuster Sucks

I could not disagree with you more. How can NO MORE LATE FEES mean that you never have to return it? I am guessing you are all for frivilous lawsuits where no individual needs to have any accountability. I am use to returning movies after 2-3 days. I now know I can be a few days late and they won't ding me. Never would I assume I could keep them out for 30 flippin' days. Are you away on fishing trips?

There is something in this world called logic. It means that not every item needs to be spelled out for every human. There are moments (like this!) where any reasonable being would guess that they could keep it a few additional days..not 30. Just for fun, I am assuming you thought you could keep it indefintiely? Hold on to it until 2011? If not, what was your magic number of days?

I find it ludacris (spelling intentionally incorrect) that people sue for hot coffee, expect the government to protect them from everything and that individuals take a good thing and bastardize it.

Movies can be downloaded anyways, so who cares? I just get so frustrated at people who lack common sense and blame others. I don't see anyone on here agreeing with you...I wonder why? You are lucky that Blockbuster bowed to your whims...if I owned it, I would have laughed you out of my store. Good luck getting thru life, as it appears you need everything typed out for you.

"How can NO MORE LATE FEES mean that you never have to return it?"
Nowhere did I say I never have to return it. However, nowhere did I sign, nor was it pointed out to me (the consumer) that I had 30 days MAXIMUM and then I would OWN it forever. I don't know about you, but I have a life.. and can't watch a movie so promptly and get it back as quickly and efficiently as you ostensibly do.

"There is something in this world called logic. It means that not every item needs to be spelled out for every human. "
When someone can contractually hold you to something that you had no idea was in place, and resulting in sending your name to a collection agency or whatever else they can do, for people that had no idea about the policy... I think 'LOGIC' doesn't apply. Logic would apply to not walking across a busy intersection without looking both ways. Doesn't apply to renting videos.

"There are moments (like this!) where any reasonable being would guess that they could keep it a few additional days..not 30. "
What is the magic number for Netflix or Blockbuster online? When do you own those videos? A reasonable being wouldn't GUESS that they could keep it a few more days. At what point would you expect that you would OWN a video that could never to be returned. More to the point, in the EXACT same store, where I have returned videos before - late of course, the cashier told me I could keep it as long as I want. The only ramification is that I would have to pay the restocking fee, and they would refund the movie charge on my card. Now, since the 30 days warning was nowhere in sight, nor posted that even an employee could easily find, how would YOU expect the consumer to know the maximum limits or that a policy was even in effect? And I guess you agree $25 is logically the price one would expect to pay for a video that they are selling at the counter for $9.99.

"I don't see anyone on here agreeing with you...I wonder why?" More to the point is why are you on here disagreeing with me. Do you not have anything better to do? Perhaps.. make a post of your own on your vox page. I am not asking for people to agree, I am simply trying to post what is happening in my life... why don't you do the same.

"Movies can be downloaded anyways, so who cares?"
Who cares? Obviously you do.. or you wouldn't be responding. Additionally, I certainly hope that you are suggesting people download through legal chains, such as iTunes or Amazon. If you mean bit torrent, no wonder I am charged $25.. they say piracy is inflating movie prices.
This is why rogers says on their commercial....

"NO LATE FEES" "And... Unlike Blockbuster, we don't charge restocking fees"

Also, I HATE ROGERS VIDEO.

Umm. I'm gonna have to agree with the other guy. 30 days? Really? You didn't have time in your busy WoW schedule to take a 15 minute (tops) drive to your local Blockbuster? Or maybe you liked the movie enough to watch it 35 days in a row. So you should buy it anyway cause its that great. And a re-stocking fee is not a late fee. It means you owe the company money so they can get another copy of the fuckin' movie. That you kept for an obscene amount of time. Get over it and deal with the 14.95 that was charged to your card. Or the 1.25 you paid. Life, son. Life.
jcost seriously dude.. haha..

Well, while I do think you kept the movie for a ridiculous amount of time, I have to agree that they should at least inform people that 'No Late Fees' actually means 'No Late Fees Until 31 Days and then we charge double the cost of the movie'. And that ally employees should be told where to find this policy so that when people do keep a movie for an extraordinary amount of time, they can point to it in writing and say "See, it says right here No Late Fees only applies for 30 days."

I can feel your pain in dealing with Blockbuster. I went to rent a video and was told to renew my Rewards. I did and then came back just two weeks later to rent another movie and was told to renew again and then they asked me again a month later. It's supposed to be a once a year deal. It's cool though because Redbox is closer.
